Hi, I want to simulate somthing like a spiral spring, such as this:
however, I don't want to build this spring as a manifold mesh. I want to build it as a spiral rope, ex. just a sequence of vertices, each node connected to the next one.
the thing is, that the links between the nodes do no act as joint constraint, such as this:
so what happens is that my spring just collapses to the ground, as a rope would.
What I'm asking is, how do you suggest, I should build a spiral spring?

Hi,
To, simulate a spiral spring, I would use a series of soft body toruses all constrained on the Y axis, as this would be the simplest approach.
