btSoftBody::cutLink samples?

I've been searching all over and I can't find any examples of btSoftBody::cutLink being used. Does anyone have any experience with it?

What exactly is the parameter

btScalar position

referring to? Is it limited between [0,1]?

There's no documentation about this function anywhere and I'd like to use it, any hints, insight would be greatly appreciated.
